Technical projects
- Vulkan Mesh Shading and Culling
- Built a highly efficient meshlet shading and culling pipeline in Vulkan utilizing mesh shaders and task shaders.
- Wavefront Path Tracing
- Implemented a CUDA path tracer with wavefront design and wide BVH which achieves a maximum speedup of 1.79x compared to megakernel implementation, and 8.20x compared to multi-thread CPU implementation.
- Metarenderer
- An educational tool for introductory graphics courses based on three.js and WebGL, featuring interactive visualization of camera models, basic shading models, lighting, culling, textures, and shadow mapping.
- Advanced features include PCSS, microfacet models, and PRT with interreflection and glossy BRDF.
- Used in the teaching of COMP 5411 Advanced Computer Graphics, at HKUST.
- [Geometry Processing Pipeline]
- Built the full pipeline from shape acquisition to rigged models, including surface reconstruction, mesh smoothing, mesh parametrization, mesh deformation, skinning, and skeletal animation.
- Trace
- A soft renderer supporting path tracing, GGX microfacet BRDF, and photon mapping.
- Course project of an introductory graphics course.
- PLM-KGE
- Explored the extrapolation behaviours, inference patterns, and embedding distributions of pretrained language model-based knowledge graph embedding.
- Yet-Another-Anime-Segmenter
- Developed a deep learning-based instance segmentation model for anime characters based on CondInst and SOLOv2, achieving best performance among open-source solutions at the time released.
Departmental service
- Student helper of COMP2012H - Honors Object-Oriented Programming and Data Structures
- Devised a programming assignment of implementing a simplified but fully functional Git-like VCS, which comes with an automated tester, unit tests, and black box tests.
- Designed lab exercises.
